Description
In over 150 cases featuring 600, high-quality images, Emergency Radiology Cases provides a succinct review of problems encountered by Radiologists when on call for the emergency room. Cases are divided into Trauma, Non-Trauma, and Pediatric sections, and categorized by parts of the body including: Brain, Spine, Upper and Lower Extremities, Chest, and Abdomen. Part of the Cases in Radiology series, this book follows the easy-to-use format of question and answer in which the patient history is provided on the first page of the case, and radiologic findings, differential diagnosis, teaching points, next steps in management, and suggestions for furthering reading are revealed on the following page. This casebook is an essential resource for Radiology Residents and practicing Radiologists alike.

Pros:1.covers most common emergency radiology cases.2.Quick read.Cons:1. Multiple authors have contributed to the cases leading to varied quality of cases, images and discussion. Some cases have no description of imaging findings; some have arrows pointing to the pertinent imaging findings on the question page itself; some information in Teaching points is inaccurate e.g. it says Germinal Matrix Hemorrhage type III in infants has a good prognosis when in fact Type III GMH has a poor prognosis.2. No nuclear medicine cases.3.Some of the images are so small while there is so much free space on the question page; one wonders why the images are so much minimized.Verdict: This is an acceptable resource if one wants to quickly sample most common emergency imaging cases before taking calls,
